Tolani Ajayi, Faces Trial, After Beheading His Father (pic)


A 21 year old boy,Tolani Ajayi, who was a student of the Redeemer’s University, Ogun State, that murdered his father, faces a trial before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Owode Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

Tolani Ajayi, was arrested by the police for killing his father, Mr.Charles Ajayi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, on 3rd July, 2014, was taken to court on Tuesday.

The 21 year old, beheaded his father in their residence at Canaanland Street, Redemption Camp, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

According to source, who spoke on the Murder of Mr Charles Ajayi, reported that Tolani stabbed his Dad, with a knife before cutting him in pieces, at the early hour of 1am, after a misunderstanding that ensued between them for his refusal to associate in a prayer session.

It was reported that Tolani later pack his father’s remains in a box and dragged them into the bush within the camp.

Mr. muyiwa Adejobi, who is the state Police Public Relations Officer, reported that the police later recovered the remains of the 60-year-old Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Charles Ajayi, in a bush along Canaanland Street.

Speaking to source, Tolani said, “My father went to the kitchen and got a wooden spoon, which he used on me repeatedly and I tried to defend myself, he then, he bit me on the shoulder and I got angry, and use a small kitchen knife to stab him, before i later use cutlass to attack him.”

The chief magistrate, Mr. Bolaji Ojikutu, asked the accused be remanded in custody pending the advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions, the trial is now adjourned till October 10, 2014.
