Scientists in US carrying out investigation on Chlamydia discovered tiny organisms living deep men's penis which was considered totally sterile in the absence of infections. But experts had it that there are many micro-organisms inside the penis.
David Nelson, an associate professor of microbiology and immunology, quoted that he and his colleagues at the University of Indiana were studying sexually-transmitted diseases when they discovered that the pathogens were receiving metabolites, that promotes growth from another microscopic,
Streptococcus faecalis (a bacterium commonly found in the human intestine but which can also cause urinary tract and skin infections) It was said that while some bacteria could make a man more exposed to infections like Chlamydia, others could also help prevent them.
According to a 2010 study published in Plos One, men that are uncircumcised,have more different bacteria on their penis, on the same study they also discovered similar make-ups of bacteria between sexual partners, "affirming the support partners share genital microbiota".
They however, noted that a great deal more research is required in the field before solid health advice could be introduced.
